Asylum Seekers and Refugees in Scotland

Asylum Seekers and Refugees in Scotland

Part of an ongoing study of Migrants, Asylum Seekers and Refugees in Scotland. They have not only made very difficult journeys and decisions to leave their country. – they have travelled a very difficult road both physically and mentally just to reach this country and when they get here the hard road to becoming a refugee can continue for many years.

Glasgow based charity, Positive Action in Housing, they have managed to begin the process of rebuilding their lives.
“When we were in the asylum system we didn’t just take the food and the place to sleep – we were working hard, studying, doing voluntary work. We just did all we could. All this work helped to keep us strong and confident.”
